In the summer of 2020, I continued my drone photography adventure, visiting Vaddas and capturing the stunning waterfalls of Vaddasfossen in Nordreisa and Røykfossen in Kvænangen with my Mavic Air 2. These locations were perfect for aerial photography, showcasing rugged landscapes, powerful waterfalls, and untouched Norwegian wilderness.

Vaddas is a small area in Nordreisa, known for its serene beauty and historical significance. The region was once linked to mining activities but is now popular for outdoor recreation. Flying my drone here allowed me to capture vast forests, winding rivers, and towering mountains. The contrast of nature against remnants of its industrial past made for compelling visuals.

Aerial Views of Vaddasfossen Waterfall

Vaddasfossen is a dramatic waterfall in Nordreisa. Surrounded by lush greenery and steep rock formations, the waterfall plunges down multiple levels, creating an awe-inspiring sight. The aerial view highlighted the waterfall’s power as it carved through rugged terrain. The mist from the cascading water added a dreamlike effect, making this a standout moment of my trip. The river feeding the falls winds through deep valleys, further enhancing the area’s striking landscape.

Capturing Røykfossen Waterfall with a Drone

Røykfossen, meaning “Smoke Falls” in Norwegian, is a breathtaking waterfall in Kvænangen. It gets its name from the mist and spray produced as water crashes against the rocks. This natural wonder is deep within the fjord landscape. My drone footage captured the intense movement of the water, showcasing the raw energy of nature in this remote region. The surrounding area is rich with hiking trails, making it a favorite spot for adventurers and photographers alike.
